Rotary Club of DeSoto’s local service projects and international efforts are largely funded by this community wide program.

Five times a year, American flags go up in DeSoto.  A team of Rotarians make a discreet flag pole holder in the ground near the edge of the street or sidewalk, then, throughout the year put up the flags and take them down.  Each flag is paid for by individuals or businesses in a gesture of patriotism and community solidarity.

Here is how it works:
You are only responsible to make timely payment, once a year.  We do the rest.

Flags usually go up the week or weekend prior to the following holidays:
• Memorial Day
• Flag Day
• July 4th
• Labor Day (and stay up until after Sept. 11th)
• Veteran’s Day

Flags are taken down on or near the following weekend.

Corporate Clients:
You may sponsor a “Colony” of 13 flags for just $300 – You get thirteen flags in front of your business.

Residential Clients:
Individual flags are only $50 per year.  Please note: We do not prefer to drive out to your lot to put up one flag. At 10 trips per year, (to put up and take down) our cost becomes a bit prohibitive.  We highly recommend getting your neighbors to also commit to $40 and we will gladly give you the same discounted rate that our bulk corporate clients receive.  So if you want to participate as an individual in our fundraiser, we encourage you to go the extra mile and help us decorate your entire street by getting your neighbors involved too!
